BODY OF BELLWOOD SOLDIER RETURNED; FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

The body of Pfc. Sanford C. Nearhoof, 19, son of Mr and Mrs. Sanford Nearhoof, West Eleventh street Bellwood, who died of wounds received in the Korean war, was returned to Bellwood today and taken to the Fuoss funeral home. The young soldier was wounded in the Korean fighting Aug. 14 and died the following day in an army hospital in Japan. Pfc. Nearhoof was born in Altoona, Nov. 4, 1930. He was a graduate of the Bellwood-Antis High school, class of 1940. He enlisted in the Army in September, 1949. He arrived in Korea in July. He is survived by the parents, a brother, Donald Nearhoof, at home and two sisters, Mrs. Joyce McClelland, Tipton, and Beverly at home and his grandmother, Mrs. Martha J. Nearhoof. He was a member of the First Evangelical U. B. church of Bellwood. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Fuoss funeral home, Bellwood. Full military honors will be accorded by service Company, 104th Armored Calvary, Tyrone, and the Bellwood American Legion and Veterans Of Foreign Wars.
