Subject: BOSSANGE, GEORGE HENRI LEOPOLD -- Trying to find records on emigration from France to Canada

I am trying to find any info on my maternal great grandfather, GEORGE HENRI LEOPOLD BOSSANGE. I know that he emigrated from France to Canada approximately 1883 and joined the North West Mounted Police. He was later killed (while on duty as a NWMP Staff Sergeant) via lightning strike on June 21, 1919 in Spirit River, Alberta. But I can't locate any information on him or his ancestors before he left France.

(He married MARY EMMA JAQUISH in Canada and had 4 children: Laura, Rowena, Waldemar and --my grandmother-- YOLANDE BOSSANGE.)
