A couple quick questions. Can files from Legacy 6 be opened using newer versions without distorting or rearranging my family tree in any way?. Second, would Legacy 6 work in a computer running Windows 7 ?.

For quite a number of years I've been using Legacy 6 for my family tree. It's served my purpose and because I'm not yet finished my family tree, I figured there was no need to upgrade. I've got the software installed on my laptop which is approximately 5-6 years old and running Windows XP. The computer was never hooked up to the internet (didn't need to) and so is likely out of date in many ways. I have been making backups of all my files since the very beginning.

Here's the problem....

I recently purchased a new printer (HP 6815) and tried to install the software onto my laptop. For whatever reason it doesn't want to recognize that there's a printer hooked up to it from a USB cord. I tried downloading the drivers from HP and that made no difference. So now that I can't print my Legacy files from the laptop, I'm wondering how I can transfer these files to my desktop which is running Windows 7. Will it be compatible or would I need to upgrade to newer versions of Legacy?.

Would appreciate any help.
