Subject: Re: Seeking Information, Ancestors from Gelderland
Date: Monday, November 14, 2016
The civil registration of births, marriages and deaths started in The Netherlands in about 1811. Before 1811 we have to depend on the records of the churches.
I will start with the information I found of Gaauwke (Gauwke, Gauke) van Diejen.
She died on August 12, 1848 in Deil, province Gelderland. In that death certificate is mentioned that she was 67 years old. So, she must been born/baptized in around 1781.
And I found her. Gaauwke Diejen was born on June 28, 1781 and baptized on Sunday, July 1, 1781 in Deil. Certificate number 75. She was reformed.
Her father was Johannis van Diejen and her mother Maeike van Herwaarde.
The baptism name is: Gauke
Witness was Geertruij van Herwaarde.
Gaauwke van Diejen married on November 15, 1806 to Willem van Offeren. He came from the town Trigt (later named Tricht) and lived in Deil.
The parents of Willem van Offeren were already deceased.
Her baptism/birth certificate and their marriage certificate are attached.
