Just a note to let all of you know that the names Osterhout, Osterhoudt and Oosterhout in the United States most all of them are related to Jan Jansen Van Osterhout/Osterhoutdt/Oosterhout. Unless you came into the USA in the 1800's.. In the Dutch Reform Church where most of the family records are found the recorders we not always Dutch. Some were German and the Dutch gave them two years to learn the Dutch language... In the meantime they recorded the names the way they sounded to them... I have found names of the same family with different spelling of the last name...We have an Osterhout Data Base Center and are sending out Research News letters starting in Feb 2004... We also have a Oosterhout Dutch Village at our home where we do research and remember the Dutch People and the Osterhout families.... Connie
