Surnames: Richards, Trewern
Hoping this finds out some information. My grandmother was the child of Mary Hanna Trewern and a Richard Richards ( the best guess we have). She was listed as Polly Trewern Richards on her birth registration; Polly Richards on the census records and Pollie Richards on her marriage registration. The story we have is that her grandmother Mary Hanna who was born in Cornwall England had a child; my grandmother Polly; out of wedlock. The father"s last name is listed as Richards. It was only in stories that I heard that his name was Richard Richards who later moved from Cornwall to Australia. He would have been born around 1860; probably in the Penzance or Madron area. It was rumored that he moved to Australia to herd sheep ( o verification on that). Just looking for family to verify rumored stories. There's the whole hang up with the illegitimate child but that was 130 years ago! Just want to fill in that portion of the tree. Best guess came up with two names: Richard Richards from St Buryan who moved to Casino, NSW born 1856, died 1913 and Richard White Richards born St Just in Penwith about 1862, died 1924 in Ballarat East, Vic. Any information appreciated
