ALLNE W. BLANKS was born September 8, 1831, in Charlotte County, Va., removed with his parents in 1845, to Christian County, Ky., and in 1850 came to Ballard County, where he has since resided. His father, Allne W. Blanks, Sr., a Virginian was a soldier in the war of 1812, and died about 1848, aged seventy years. His grandfather was a soldier in the Revolutionary war. Allne W., Sr., married Harriet Morris, who died about 1874 at the age of seventy-five years, and their offspring are: Richard, Mary (McCutchson and Welch), Martha, Elizabeth, Williams, Sarah (Lane), Harriet (Lane), subject, Lucy (Terrell), James and Emily (Tisdall). Subject was married January 18, 1855, to Miss Rebecca, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Howard) Bishop, of Ballard County (born August 4, 1835), and to them have been born F. I. (Howle), Joseph A. and Mary B. Subject is a successful farmer, raising chiefly tobacco and corn. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity, also a member of the Baptist Church and a Democrat.
