Nancy Anne Marie Grandy, 90, of Stockport, Ohio, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Riverside Landing Nursing Home in McConnelsville, Ohio.

She was born on March 12, 1925, in Minneapolis, MN, to the late John A. and Donna LaCras Smith.

She was a graduate of Marietta High School, Marietta, Ohio and The Ohio State University.

She was a veteran of World War II serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a war aerial photographer off the coast of Nova Scotia.
In her early life, she was a professional dancer for Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey and Glenn Miller. She retired from the American Jersey Cattle Club Magazine where she worked as the assistant editor.
She was the past Commander of American Legion Post No. 439 in LaFeria, Texas and was the first ever female American Legion Commander.
She also was a member of the American Legion Post No. 24 in McConnelsville, Ohio and V.F.W. Post No. 4713 in Malta, Ohio.

She is survived by a son, Larry Logan of Elyria, Ohio; and two daughters, Laura Kristin Logan of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Rebecca McMannis of Stockport, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
